Key Suspect in Parliament Police Officer's Murder Arrested

Sleuths on Saturday arrested a 30-year-old man in connection to the murder Hellen Kwamboka. The deceased was attached to Parliament Police Station.

The Directorate of Criminal Investigations (DCI), through its Twitter account, revealed that Erick Onyono Nyakundi was nabbed at his hide out in Swam Town in Mt. Elgon.

The officers had reportedly trailed him for a week before they finally arrested him.

Kwamboka was found dead at her home in Nairobi's Umoja estate on Friday, May 24.

Her colleagues revealed that they last saw on Thursday, May 23, and were worried when she failed to turn up for work the following day.

They tried to reach her on phone but there was no response. They immediately started looking for her.

Officers who broke into her house found her lifeless body on the bed. They disclosed that the deceased had a deep cut on her head.

A police report filed at Buruburu Police Station indicated that Kwamboka also bore strangulation marks on her neck. However, no weapon was recovered at the scene.

It was suspected that she might have been killed by a man who visited her on the day that she was last seen.

However, it was not immediately clear how he carried out the attack since the officer's house was locked from inside.
