According to reports, the comic was involved in a road accident on Saturday. He was rushed to a nearby hospital and pronounced dead hours later.
However, there have been conflicting reports about the cause of his death with some people suspecting foul play.
Kimilili MP Didmus Barasa called for thorough investigations into the matter.
"The passing on of John Gift is regrettable. It's my prayer that all questions surrounding his death be established by authorities beforehand. It should never be business as usual. RIP," he posted.
