Six Arrested in Connection to Mandago Brother’s Death

Police in Eldoret on Monday arrested six men who were found at the grave of John Kinyor Kirwa hours after he was buried in Kuinet, Soy, Uasin Gishu county. The deceased was the brother of Uasin Gishu Governor, Jackson Mandago.

The six suspects namely Emmanuel Kiplimo, Kennedy Wafula, Derrick Olumbe, Moses Karanja, John Wafula, and Oliver Namayi were found behaving suspiciously at the deceased's grave at 3am on Monday.

The officers have since launched investigations into the murder riddle that is yet to be solved.

According to reports by Nation, the six suspects were arraigned before Eldoret Chief Magistrate Charles Obulutsa.

Statements by the investigating officer, Patrick Lorim, indicate that the suspects were arrested for trespassing a burial site in such odd hours. This was through a sworn affidavit.

The detained suspects will be detained for five days at Soy Police Station as per the orders of the magistrate in order to efficiently allow the police to conduct further investigations.

In addition, dozens of people had recorded statements but none had been arrested so far. The case will be mentioned on June 7.

Kirwa, the deceased, who was buried on Sunday, was initially found in an incomplete building at Chepkanga market a week ago, some 10 kilometers from Eldoret town.

The body was found by a resident who had been sent to carry out repairs on water pipes and alerted the police.
