Moses Kuria Ridicules Ruto's Ksh5.8 Billion Project

Gatundu South MP Moses Kuria caused a heated debate on Saturday after taking a swipe at Deputy President William Ruto.

The controversial legislator put up a Facebook post congratulating Ruto for launching a Ksh5.8 billion irrigation project in Busia County.

He, however, claimed that there were other parts of the country which were in dire need of such projects.

Kuria was quick to remind Ruto he needed to revamp old forgotten dams before unveiling new ones.

"Congratulations Deputy President William Ruto for launching the KSh 5 billion irrigation Project In Busia. The great people of Busia deserve no less. Just a polite reminder that Maara Dam in Tharaka Nithi, Rupingazi And Kithino in Embu, Naru Moru Dam in Nyeri, Malewa Dam in Nyandarua, Rwabura Dam and Kinale Dam in Kiambu, Wiyumiririe and Nanyuki Dams in Laikipia, Maragwa Dam in Muranga are gathering dust in the drawers of the Ministry of Agriculture.

"The entire Meru County has no single project. The people of Thwake, Busia, Kimwarer, Arror, Itare, Mzima, Chemususu Dams deserve them. The people in my region are not children of a lesser God. We shall overcome," he posted.

His sentiments didn't sit well with some people as they accused him of lacking respect for Ruto.

Others, however, told him off for only thinking of Central Kenya.

Kennedy Mutio wrote, "Thank you for showing us how self-centered you are!"

Frank Moseti posted, "Why can't you just pick your phone, call him and tell him all this nonsense?"

Loise Nyagah commented, "Why do you play divisive politics? Rice produced in Busia will benefit Kenyans."
