Uhuru's Former CS Loses Mother

A former member of President Uhuru Kenyatta's first cabinet lost her mother on Friday.

According to The Star newspaper, former Labour Cabinet Secretary Phyllis Kandie's mother, Hanna Kimoi Kipingor, passed on while receiving treatment at a Nakuru Hospital.

She was aged 93 years old.

The cause of her death was still not known at the time of this writing.

Kandie, who currently serves as Kenya's ambassador to the United Nation's Educational, Scientific and Cultural Organisation in Paris, stated that her family lost a mentor and a strong pillar.

She further added that her family benefitted a lot from her mother's 'strong counsel.'

Kimoi served as a church elder and a community leader who was a businesswoman and a matriarch of the family.

The ambassador's families hail from a small village of Poror in Eldama Ravine, Baringo County.

Funeral arrangements are still underway and will be made public soon.
