Sonko’s Powerful Outfit to Teach CS Rotich a Lesson

Nairobi Governor Mike Sonko on Sunday launched team Wanjiku to fight for the needs of common mwananchi.

This comes after Finance Cabinet Secretary Henry Rotich proposed that Boda Boda operators pay insurance for their passengers.

The governor who was speaking at his head of Security’s colorful wedding launched the team alongside other leaders such as William Kabogo, Moses Kuria, Kalembe Ndile, Simon Mbugua, Rueben Ndolo, Stanley Livondo, and Messo.

According to the team, the common Mwananchi’s rights are being infringed and they could not stand and watch, hence the birth of the team that is neither Kieleweke or Tangatanga.

“Today we are gathered here as the children of poor people who've risen from dust and fought for themselves to where we are and today we continue fighting. As the spokesperson this team we are saying, we are tired!” exclaimed Simon Mbugua.

“We are neither team Kieleweke nor Tangatanga ,I was in team Tangatanga but as per today, here we've launched team Wanjiku that accommodates poor people’s children, single mothers, and real hustlers, not those with big tummies.” he clarified.

“The team’s main grievance was Rotich’s proposal that suggested that Bodaboda operators should pay insurance for their passengers as well as house levy tax for the commoners.

“It is not right to ask Boda Boda operators to pay insurance for pillions, it's like asking motorists to also insure their passengers, we'll on Monday go to court over the issue, watch this pace” stated one of the speakers.

Sonko further urged citizens to speak out and criticize issues that the government dictates especially when it is not right.

“Together with all Boda Boda operators in the country, we shall go to court and fight against to challenge Rotich's proposal stating that Boda operators to pay the insurance and compressive insurance as this will escalate the crime rate in the country” highlighted the governor.

The country has some laws that are oppressive and we shall address them if we have a referendum. As a governor, I will liaise with my colleagues and fight against the infringement of Wanjiku and hustlers rights for purposes of raising funds to pay off the governments debts.

"Wanjiku is suffering, she has no one to defend her rights and as from Monday, we will go to court  to stop Rotich's proposal that requires all boda operators to have third part insurance. We are going to teach Rotich a lesson!" retorted Kalembe Ndile.
