4 Hardcore Nairobi Gangsters Busted With Police Equipment

The Directorate of Criminal Investigations(DCI) on Thursday arrested four suspects believed to be connected to a series of robberies in Nairobi.

The four suspects; Joseph Ngui Nzunza, Andrew Nzioki Kiilu, David Mwangi Gakuru and Peter Matata Mungeli are said to be in lawful custody pending further investigations by the body.

On its Twitter page, DCI disclosed that they recovered handcuffs, police appointment certificates and pocket phones from a Toyota Axio that they were driving.

The investigative body also revealed that the suspects were connected to a series of robberies within Nairobi on people coming from banks.

They further urged everyone who had been a victim to such robberies to report to the nearest DCI office.

"All those that have been #victims of ATM robberies or drugged & their money stolen to report at the nearest #DCI office," part of the tweet read.

However, they reported that one of the suspects managed to escape and was being pursued.

Earlier this month, detectives from the Directorate of Criminal Investigations arrested two suspects believed to be stealing from shoppers in a mall along Thika road.

Speaking to Kenyans.co.ke, Kasarani OCPD Peter Kimani confirmed the incident stating that they had received complaints from the mall's management about a gang that was trailing their customers.

"The management complained about a gang that has been trailing customers from the bank to the parking lot and eventually breaking into the MVS and stealing the money.

"We laid an ambush and nabbed them," he had stated.
