Murkomen's Right-Hand Man Abducted and Murdered

The County Liason Officer attached to the office of Elegeyo Marakwet Senator Kipchumba Murkomen was found dead on Saturday after he was reported missing on Friday.

The senator announced his aide's death and expressed how saddened he was over the brutal murder of his close assistant.

"I am shattered. I am in so much pain. My friend & brother Hon.Pastor.Benson Kiptire former MCA Kapyego has been murdered. Benson was my County Office Liason officer.

"I am still in utter shock. Please pray for his wife, children and ailing mother," he posted on Twitter.

Citizen TV reported that the lifeless body of the late Kiptire was found in Kamatira forest in West Pokot County with a head injury.

He was allegedly abducted from his business premises in Eldoret Town by unknown people who bundled him into a waiting vehicle.

Kiptire's disappearance was reported by Marakwet East MP Kangogo Bowen on his Facebook page where he urged residents to help in tracing the missing former MCA.

"Dear all, I am told the former Kapyego MCA Benson Kiptire was taken away by unknown people in a Land Cruiser Prado KBW with four men onboard who claim to be policemen at his shop at Rock Center in Eldoret at around 12 noon today (Friday)” he posted.

Senator Murkomen expressed concern that the security in Eldoret town had deteriorated to the point that an individual could be kidnapped in broad daylight.
