Family's Startling Confession on Athlete Embroiled in Sex Saga

The siblings of recently arrested Hillary Kiprotich alias Shieys Chepkosgei alias Pamela Mulupi, have come clean on some of his peculiar habits when they were growing up.

Hillary was arrested for impersonation after nurses at the Moi Teaching and Referal Hospital (MTRH) alerted the police of his presence at the emergency section posing as a female nurse.

As it turns out, Hillary's battle with his sexuality started from an early age.

Lazarus Kipruto, Kiprotich’s brother, during an interview with the Standard disclosed intimate details of how his younger brother used to be caught countless times wearing skirts.

“We were used to him acting like a woman. He would even dress in skirts and other women clothes when going to church or school events when he was young,” he divulged.

The last born in a family of five, Hillary reportedly lost his mother back when he was still a toddler, and it was his elder sister, Rosebella Chepchumba, who was tasked with raising him.

She maintained that he had a normal childhood by any standard, however, once in a while he'd shock them by parading around in her clothes, adding that he despised his shorts and trousers and that at one point, he came home with a man whom he introduced as his girlfriend.

“We were very shocked about Kiprotich’s decision to take a step that our community could never accept. But our pleas could not dissuade him,” Chepchumba disclosed.

She did, however, confess that they had known about his career in athletics posing as a woman when he came home with medals which he claimed to have won.

“We wanted to know how he got to register as a female athlete, but that was his big secret. Our advice fell on deaf ears and he kept away from home. We only saw him once or twice a year,” she declared.

The Chairman Athletics Kenya (AK), Abraham Mutai, was quick to distance the national federation from Kiprotich, emphasising that the man under probe was not registered under AK.
