A Member of County Assembly (MCA) from Kitui County will be arraigned in court on Monday for head butting a school head teacher and causing him to bleed profusely.
The Standard reported that Chuluni Ward Representative James Mbuvi Kula attacked Ithumula Primary School head teacher Lazarus Mwanzia Kimanzi during a board meeting on November 30, 2019.
According to the publication, the two got into an argument during a meeting that had been convened to discuss how a contract Kula won a contract to build pit latrines in the school.
According to the publication, the contract was awarded without following laid down procedures.
Kimanzi reported the assault to the police under OB no. 07/30/11/2018. He, however, claims that they have been dragging their feet.
The head teacher revealed that the police officers took to long to arrest the Ward Representative after he reported the matter.
In his statement, the head teacher revealed that the MCA first slapped him before knocking him with his head.
"I bled profusely from the injuries following the attack in view of the school committee officials including a county government official,” stated Kimanzi.
Kula will appear in court on Monday to confirm whether he has been served with witness statements and documents.
