Babu Owino Ridicules Latest Report on Best & Worst MPs

MP, Embakasi East and Leader, Youth For Africa Movement, Babu Owino has come out to bash a recent list published by the Sunday Nation.

The report listed the worst performing Members of the National Assembly based on the number of times they had spoken during parliamentary sessions in the period between September 2017 and December 2018.

The most active and top performing MPs as well as senators were also included in the extensive report compiled by Mzalendo Trust, run by its Executive Director, Caroline Gaita.

Surprisingly, the vocal Embakasi East MP was nowhere to be seen on the various lists, prompting him to take to his Instagram page to voice his disapproval.

"From the outset, let me be clear that I am not in competition with my Honorable colleagues but rather, I am fully focused on delivering for my employers, the great constituents of Embakasi East," he asserted.

He then went ahead and bashed what he termed as 'unscrupulous media personalities' for allegedly seeking to cover the entire truth of his record.

"My attention is drawn to an ignominious article in today’s Sunday Nation purporting to list Members of Parliament in our National Assembly by performance," Babu divulged.

The vocal MP listed down the various motions he presented and were currently on the floor of the house, in a bid to quash the latest report.

"As Member of Parliament, I currently have three motions on the floor of the house. I have also proposed a further two motions which includes the proposal to write off HELB debts by the national government," he maintained.

Babu then tasked his constituents to judge him by his own actions, and not by the report which overlooked him entirely

"At the end of the day, the people of Embakasi East will decide. Until that time comes, I continue to re-dedicate myself to the success of my programs," he affirmed.
