Moses Kuria - I Convened the La Mada Meetings

Gatundu South Member of Parliament (MP), Moses Kuria, confessed to being the man responsible for convening the meetings that were held at La Mada Hotel, off Thika road.

The agenda of the aforementioned meetings have since turned controversial after reports emerged that Deputy President, William Ruto, allegedly claimed that the assembly was aimed at ending his life.

"I constituted the whole set of meetings and  I am ready by the way. I can record my statement at any given time with the Directorate of Criminal Investigations," Kuria maintained while speaking on NTV.

However, the vocal MP made it clear that the meeting was geared towards development agendas and trying to come up with ways in which to achieve various development goals.

"I prefer to remain completely neutral in the entire matter, However, all I'm saying is that you should not de-legitimize people meeting about development," he asserted.

Kuria went on to defend his intentions as well as those of the other members present at the meeting, adding that he would, in fact, move the next meeting's venue from La Mada Hotel to his personal residence.

The Gatundu South MP insisted that he would remain totally impartial regarding the grave accusations, adding that if investigators wanted his statement they knew where to find him.

"If the Directorate of Criminal Investigations (DCI) boss, George Kinoti, wants my statement he can call me," Kuria divulged.

CSs Peter Munya (Trade), Sicily Kariuki (Health), Joe Mucheru (ICT) and others from the region were summoned to the DCI headquarters on Monday to record statements over the alleged plot to assassinate DP Ruto.

Referring to the allegations as extremely serious, CS Munya disclosed that investigators had affirmed that DP Ruto made a call and complained that the CS and other senior government officials have been meeting at La Mada Hotel May 14, 2019, to plan how to kill him.
