Details of Babu Owino's Call to Uhuru Over Ruto's Assassination Plot [VIDEO]

Embakasi East Member of the National Assembly Paul Ongili, popularly known as Babu Owino, has revealed details of his phone call to President Uhuru Kenyatta regarding DP William Ruto's alleged assassination plot.

While appearing on NTV's SideBar, the youthful leader stated that in their discussion, the president termed the claims as sideshows.

The president further reportedly divulged that he was more interested in creating opportunities for the youth.

"After I heard the news about the alleged attacks on DP Ruto I called the president and he said he is not interested in sideshows and is concentrating on the big four agenda.

"Furthermore, he said that he wants to create opportunities for the youth to create jobs for them. He wants to unite the country and secure the borders of our nation from Al Shabaab," he stated.

He justified the president's statement by explaining that Ruto himself proved that they were rumours since he was yet to record his own statement.

"The fact that the DP did not record a statement then it shows that this is a rumour," he continued.

This comes just a day after the legislator was under fire after mocking the DP's death threats.

“Funny how DP Ruto is seriously investing in "heaven" though he fears going there!,” he posted on his Twitter account.

The tweet elicited mixed reactions from netizens. One Benson Manuko encouraged the DP not to be worried by making phone calls to the DCI if truly he has invested in heaven. He should be covered by the blood of Jesus.

Robert Too asked Babu to read the Bible well to realize that it encourages everyone to work their salvation with fear and trembling and that fear is part of the investment.

"The problem with you keyboard warriors is that you are attention seekers," Acc Collins Langat dressed down the Embakasi East MP.

On Monday, three Cabinet Secretaries presented themselves to DCI over an alleged plot to assassinate Ruto.

ICT CS Joe Mucheru, his Health counterpart Sicily Kariuki, Trade & Industrialization CS Peter Munya appeared before the DCI over the claims.
