Kenyans took to Twitter and Facebook to roast their neighbors, Tanzania after Engineer Michael Olunga did the unthinkable.
The Japan-based striker led Harambee Stars to a comeback against rivals Taifa Stars in an Africa Cup of Nations (AFCON) derby in Cairo Egypt on Thursday night.
Kenya's Olunga shone with two beautifully taken goals, the first, a bicycle kick in the 37th minute and the winner in the 79th minute as Harambee Stars rallied from behind twice to eclipse Taifa Stars 3-2 at the lively 30 June Stadium.
It was Kenya’s first win in the tourney as the national team bagged three points to help secure a spot in the last-16 berth, with a match to spare against Senegal.
Johanna Omolo was the other scorer for Harambee Stars which was trailing 2-1 at half-time.
Saimon Msuva and Mbwana Samatta netted for Tanzania, which has never won an AFCON match in two appearances spanning 39 years.
Kenya's Stars has never lost to their neighbours in a match played outside Tanzania in the last 12 years.
“President Magufuli’s sons should go back home, they thought they could beat us,” Tuimusing G tweeted.
“Good morning Tanzania, I think it would be better for you to just stick to Bongo for now. Seems your luck ain't in football at the moment,” Dennis Kiplimo roasted.
One Smarter General Mtapeli even compared the countries' Head of States, stating that President Uhuru Kenyatta has never lost to Tanzanian President John Magufuli.
Kiptoo preferred to joke around with the ongoing diplomatic situation in the country, reminding Tanzanians that the only thing Kenya lost was Charles Njagua alias Jaguar's temper against them.
