Leaked Audio Reveals 3 Things Discussed in Hotel La Mada

A new audio clip believed to have been made by a PS regarding the content discussed at hotel La Mada on May 14 has emerged, according to The Star newspaper.

The publication alleges that the audio disclosed that three things were discussed during this meeting among them; Huduma Namba, the referendum and retaining power.

Those present in the meeting were told that a referendum would be conducted before 2022.

"They told us the referendum was going to happen whether Deputy President William Ruto wanted it or not. They told us to go to our village where we were born and whip up emotion," part of the audio highlighted.

Kenyans.co.ke contacted PS Karanja Kibicho to get a comment on the said audio but was unable to get any information at the time of publishing.

Speaking to Kenyans.co.ke, ICT CS Joe Mucheru acknowledged that he had heard the audio of a man speaking in a muffled voice. He, however stated he would not comment since the authenticity of the audio had not been established.

"Yes there was a meeting on 14th, whether the audio is saying the truth or not, that I cannot authenticate. There are a lot of things there that are not factual, many things that are not factual," he noted.

Trade CS Peter Munya, who is currently in China on official business, however, dismissed the contents of the audio, citing that no such discussion took place.

"The people who faked the letter are the same ones who have gone and released that audio," Munya told The Star.

On Monday, Cabinet Secretaries Munya, Mucheru and Health's Sicily Kariuki were summoned by the Directorate of Criminal Investigations (DCI) at their Kiambu headquarters over an alleged letter addressed to President Uhuru Kenyatta purporting that there was a plot to kill the deputy president.
