Currently in his second term, President Uhuru Kenyatta has maintained his stand to achieve the Big-4 Agenda - a feat that in his view will see Kenya experience transformative growth in the next ten years.
Speaking during an interview with KTN's Sharon Momanyi, Uhuru stated that he hoped the country would achieve Vision 2030 even after he leaves the presidency.
Noting that he was committed to ensuring Kenya achieves its targets, he stated, "If we can help work to eliminate corruption, Kenya can be a first-world country even in the next 10 years."
Zeroing in on the Manufacturing pillar of his development agenda, the Head of State stated that he would support industries.
"If we can create an enabling environment by increasing our capacity to generate power, continue to improve our infrastructure, improve ICT and fiber network, entrench devolution and encourage development across the country.
"I truly believe we can achieve vision 2030 as long as we remain focussed and united, cohesive and inclusive. I pray that in office or out, I shall see that day," he explained.
Under the manufacturing arm of the Big Four, Uhuru aims to raise manufacturing sector contribution to GDP from 8.5 percent to 15 percent and creating Create 1,000,000 new jobs in the sector.
His administration aims to achieve Top 50 rank in the World Bank's Ease of Doing Business global index.
Areas identified include Agro-Processing, Textile, Apparels and Leather, Cotton processing and Ginning industries, Heavy industries (Oil & Gas, Mining and Iron & Steel) as well as ICT and related Services.
