Car Ploughs Into Good Samaritans Helping Accident Victim

There was an unfortunate incident on Saturday, when a car rammed into some good samaritans who had gathered to help the victim of a separate accident in Kitengela town.

The first accident is reported to have occurred at around 12:30 am on the Athi River-Namanga Road when a speeding car hit a pedestrian.

Minutes later, when several people gathered in an attempt to help the first victim, another car rammed into them killing one on the spot.

Eyewitnesses told journalists that the second fatality was a bodaboda operator who had rushed to the scene to help the first victim.

“The second car that caused the accident hit an East African Portland Company car that had stopped on the side of the road before swerving and hitting more than 10 people who were looking at the victim,” a witness Peter Mailu stated.

Confirming the incidents, Isinya Sub County Police Commander, Kinyua Mugambi conveyed that the victim from the first accident died at the scene.

The injured were rushed to Shalom Community Hospital in Athi River for emergency treatment.

“We have towed the two vehicles to the police station as investigations have started in earnest,” he told reporters.
