Uhuru's Ally Sends Strong Warning to CS Kiunjuri

Nyeri Town MP Ngunjiri Wambugu, on Saturday, warned Agriculture Cabinet Secretary (CS) Mwangi Kiunjuri against playing politics with development projects.

Taking to Twitter, the fiery legislator stated that Kiunjuri should look for other ways of becoming Ruto's running mate instead of using projects that were initiated by the national government.

The CS was reportedly chased out of a meeting in Gatitu, Nyeri on Saturday after rowdy youth stormed the venue.

Kiunjuri had gone to the region to launch a water project when the goons stormed the venue and caused chaos.

The clash was between the Tangatanga (allied to Deputy President William Ruto) and Kieleweke(reportedly supporting President Uhuru Kenyatta) pacts which have been at loggerheads.

The chaos forced the CS to make a very hurried speech before leaving the scene immediately.

Before the launch, which was also attended by Wambugu, residents of the area had expressed their dislike for the project and posted some disparaging comments about the meeting.

That negativity forced the police to dispatch heavy security to the venue and by 10am when the CS arrived, tensions were already clearly high.

The CS was on the podium when Wambugu arrived with rowdy boda boda riders who forced the speaker to pause and Kiunjuri to change the line-up of speakers altogether.
