Watch as Sakaja Raps For Uhuru at State House, Gets Standing Ovation

Nairobi Senator Johnstone Sakaja was once a musician before he joined the murky waters of politics.

He used to rap and distribute his CDs to media stations for airplay, a task he acknowledged was daunting.

Years later he got the chance to showcase his skill to President Uhuru Kenyatta at State House.

On the night of September 20, 2016, the president hosted winners and finalist of the Jenga Talanta Program.

After a brief meeting inside the house on the hill, they all went outside where the performances were to be held.

During the performance session, Sakaja rapped one of his old songs to the merriment of the then Nairobi Woman Representative Rachael Shebesh who danced along.

The Senator continued with his performance until Uhuru was moved to give him a standing ovation.

Sakaja has taken his skills on multiple platforms even freestyle battling with young artists.

His creativity doesn't stop there, Sakaja can also play the guitar.

When he appeared on an episode of Citizen TV's JKL, he played the guitar as the host Jeff Koinange sang Kenny Rogers' Gambler hit song.

Watch Sakaja impress Uhuru with his rap skills.
