MP Shows Up Drunk to Meeting, Chaos Erupts [VIDEO]

Chaos erupted in Elburgon, Molo, on Thursday, after the area Member of Parliament (MP) Kimani Kuria arrived while drunk.

The Standard reported that the youthful MP had been invited to the meeting that was aimed at discussing illicit brews menace in the area.

His action reportedly angered the area residents who threatened to rough him up.

According to witnesses, murmurs about his drunkenness were confirmed when he staggered after he was invited to the podium to address the congregation.

The mayhem forced the police to intervene and take away the first time legislator together with his security detail.

This comes just days after Agriculture Cabinet Secretary Mwangi Kiunjuri was chased out of a meeting in Gatitu, Nyeri after rowdy youth stormed the venue.

The CS had gone to the region to launch a water project when the goons stormed the venue and caused chaos.

The chaos forced the CS to make a very hurried speech before leaving the scene.

Before the launch, which was also attended by Nyeri Town MP Ngunjiri Wambugu, residents of the area had expressed their dislike for the project and posted some disparaging comments about the meeting.

That negativity forced the police to dispatch heavy security to the venue and by 10 a.m when the CS arrived, tensions were already clearly high.

The CS was on the podium when Wambugu arrived with rowdy boda boda riders who forced the speaker to pause and Kiunjuri to change the line-up of speakers altogether.
