Janet Mbugua Reveals Her Favourite News Anchor

Many Kenyans consider Janet Mbugua as their favourite TV presenter especially now that she has made a comeback on the screen.

That aside, she too has people in her line of work who she thinks highly of.

During a past light interview with Capital FM, she revealed that Citizen TV's Hussein Mohamed topped her list of favourite news anchors.

"I would say simply because of how brilliantly he handles interviews, a good friend and former colleague," she explained.

When asked whether she would prefer to co-host with news anchors Larry Madowo or James Smart, she responded, "I know Larry, more so maybe I'll go with Larry."

Here are some of the other questions she answered.

What would you tell those who made fun of your voice growing up?

"Look at me now (laughs). Yes, I was called 'frog voice' because I had this heavy voice and I was this scrawny little girl but all is forgiven."

What is the oddest hour that your baby has ever woken you?

"Last night. I woke up at 1.30am, you know babies wake up at any time. He's learning to sleep through the night but I think he's going through a growth spurt so he's not really sleeping. So as I stand here, I've been up since midnight, I'm operating on the grace of God."

What do you miss most about the dating times?

"The truth is, marriage and having a baby are very fulfilling but what people don't like to say is, it can be quite challenging because you're juggling so much...I miss just being able to do random things, but on the plus side, having family comes with its own beautiful experience so it balances out, so it's not so bad."

How many countries have you visited?

Kenya, Tanzania, Uganda, South Africa, Brazil, US and Malaysia are the ones I can remember.
