MP Dares DCI to Arrest Her Over Itumbi’s WhatsApp Group [VIDEO]

On Friday, Kandara MP Alice Wahome dared DCI boss George Kinoti to arrest her over an alleged Tanga-tanga Whatsapp group allied to detained Digital Innovations and Diaspora Communications Secretary Dennis Itumbi.

Why is he arresting Dennis over Facebook and WhatsApp group media and threatening to go after 200 other youth in that Tanga-tanga group. If he wants to arrest anyone, let them start with me. As a woman leader, I am a member of the group,” Wahome threatened.

The legislator was speaking in Garissa where a section of women legislators had convened for fundraising.

Wahome alleged that the DCI was trivializing DP Ruto's assassination claims, pointing out that their aim is to divert the attention of the public by going after Itumbi.

What Kenyans want to know is who uttered words that could be seen as a plot to eliminate DP Ruto. Arresting Itumbi is a diversionary tactic,” Wahome insisted.

Nakuru Senator Susan Kihika claimed that the practice by officers is meant to harass and intimidate innocent members of the public.

It is wrong to arrest Kenyans and request for a week or two to conduct investigations. Proper investigations should be conducted first before anyone is apprehended. There should be solid evidence,” Senator Kihika lamented.

After the meeting at Garissa Primary School grounds, the MPs who included Gladys Shollei (Uasin Gishu), Jane Kihara (Naivasha), Faith Gitau (Nyandarua) proceeded to Madogo in Tana River County for another fundraiser.

A report by Citizen TV indicated that the DCI is seeking 256 members of a WhatsApp group where Itumbi shared the alleged assassination letter with.

The Tanga tanga WhatsApp group is under investigation and its members are expected to record statements with the police.
