Drunkards Cause Chaos at Ruto's Event

Deputy President William Ruto was on Saturday forced to cut short his speech after being heckled by drunk youth in Kehancha, Migori County.

Ruto was in the county to commission the Kehancha-Lolgorian Road which was constructed at a cost of Ksh2.8 billion.

A report by The Standard indicated that a group of about 300 people surrounded the DP's car when he was delivering his speech.

As he was speaking, the intoxicated youth became chaotic and interrupted his address.

According to the publication, Ruto wasn't pleased with their actions and asked them to shut up or leave the function.

"If you don't want to listen to us then it is better you leave us here and go your own way.

"The development projects we have come to launch here today are for the benefit of our youth and can't afford to have the same people heckle leaders," stated Ruto.

The DP proceeded with his speech after the youth calmed down.

Ruto revealed that the government would launch a street lighting program to boost the economy and not to offer lighting for drunkards to loiter around.
