The late Safaricom CEO, Bob Collymore, as many have come to learn, knew how to fly a helicopter.
He had even challenged his close friend and politician, Peter Kenneth, to learn how to fly one.
The revelation sparked debate among Kenyans, about what kind of friends they had and whether they challenged them to do meaningful things with their lives.
During a past interview with Citizen TV, he demonstrated his flying abilities.
Stories are told about how he and friends would take trips aboard a helicopter, with Bob at the controls.
In one particular story, Kenneth narrated how he was flown to Lamu County for a short vacation by the departed corporate titan.
Upon landing, they boarded a boat to take them around Manda Island and while they were sailing, Bob received a call which temporarily halted the fun they were having.
"He goes to a corner of the boat, and he's in this very tight conversation looking serious so I ask him 'what's wrong with you we didn't come here for phonecalls' and he says 'Shhhhh'," recounted Peter Kenneth.
The conversation went on for about 25 minutes and PK did not know that his friend was talking with President Uhuru Kenyatta the whole time.
"So one day I'm going to tell President Uhuru he called Bob in my presence at that boat," he joked.
