How Itumbi Cost Jacque Maribe Her Job at Citizen TV

Former Citizen TV journalist, Jacque Maribe, resigned from the station as reported by Kenyans.co.ke last week, after she was asked to quit by her bosses.

A well-informed source from the station divulged  that Maribe had requested to be excused from work on July 3, over what she termed as 'personal reasons'.

However, later that day, a photo of her and the digital strategist Dennis Itumbi at the Muthaiga police station surfaced online.

Itumbi had been arrested over claims that he penned down a letter alleging that four cabinet secretaries were plotting to kill Deputy President, William Ruto.

The publication disclosed that one of Maribe's bosses had called her and asked her to either resign or face the sack.

“The bosses felt that she had duped them into giving her time off work. Immediately after pictures of Maribe in the company of Itumbi at Muthaiga police cells went viral, one of the bosses called her on phone and asked her to either resign or face the sack,” a source told Kenyans.co.ke.

In October 2018, Royal Media Services (RMS), came to her defense after she was charged with the murder of Monica Kimani at Lamuria Gardens apartment, in Kilimani Estate.

RMS Group Managing Director, Wachira Waruru, stated that Maribe was still their employee and supported her release on bail.

She was charged together with her fiancé, Joseph Irungu alias Jowie.

After spending a few days in remand, she was released on Ksh1 million cash bail and was granted an alternative of Ksh2 million bond or three sureties of a similar amount.
