The requiem mass for the late Joe Kadenge was conducted, on Wednesday, at Friends Church, Ngong Road. Friends and family gathered to pay their last respect to the deceased football maestro.
Top-notch leaders including ODM leader Raila Odinga, Nairobi Woman Representative Esther Passaris, ANC Party leader Musalia Mudavadi and Bungoma Senator Moses Wetangula graced the emotional send-off.
Makadara MP George Aladwa, Kiminini MP Chris Wamalwa and also former Harambee Stars coach Jacob 'Ghost' Mulee attended the service.
Raila revealed that plans had been finalised to rename Nairobi’s City Stadium in honour of Kadenge during a funeral fundraiser in Nairobi, on Tuesday.
The late Joe Kadenge's body will be transported to Vihiga, on Thursday, his burial has been scheduled on Saturday, July 20.
