Esther Arunga's Ex-Fiancé Recounts Her Personal Life Before Timberlake

Wilson Malaba is a name which might not invoke any reaction from Kenyans, but this is the man who was set to marry former news anchor, Esther Arunga, before all the drama in her life.

Malaba, an events organiser, gave a detailed interview on his relationship with the former TV queen while talking to Eve Woman magazine back in 2014.

We met through a social forum dubbed CINEMA (Christians In Entertainment and Media), that brought together Christians in showbiz,” Malaba narrated.

He went on to state that he started dating Arunga in October 2009 after talking to his then pastor, Joseph Hellon, who told him that they were spiritually connected.

At that point, I thought why not? We got engaged after two months of dating. Our engagement lasted for four months,” he added.

The couple, however, broke up two months before their wedding that was scheduled to be held in April 2010.

The show biz guru reportedly confessed to Hellon that Arunga was not the right person for him.

Things went south for the couple a few months after Quincy Timberlake came into the picture.

Arunga had told me earlier that Quincy was pestering her. When I finally met him, I was disappointed. I expected a lot more from him. His grooming was pathetic,” Malaba went on to narrate.

Arunga’s former fiancé claimed that Quincy alluded to owning a hotel in The Bahamas and that he would give them complimentary accommodation for their honeymoon.

We both agreed that he was a fake. Our close friends did not fall for it either,” he divulged.

Malaba further claimed that on one particular evening, he received a message from Hellon, accusing him of being a freemason and that he had been kicked out of the church.

His instincts told him that he had to get his then-fiancée out of the church.

I called her and she promised to call me back, which she did, but I didn’t want to burden her with my problems then,” Malaba narrated.

Arunga then sent him a text saying she couldn’t wait to become Mrs Malaba.

“The following morning when I tried calling her, she wasn’t picking my calls. Later, she sent a text accusing me of adultery and asked me to stop calling her,” Malaba disclosed.

When asked about the predicament that Arunga was going through after the death of her son, Sinclair Timberlake, Malaba expressed his sympathy for her but also stated that he’d rather not be asked to comment on her personal life.

He concluded by stating, “That chapter is closed. My family is my priority now.”
