Starehe Member of Parliament, Charles ‘Jaguar’ Kanyi, worked the crowd at Kesses Constituency, Uasin Gishu county, to a frenzy, on Friday afternoon.
This is after he was called to address the local residents and leaders who had gathered to witness the strategic plan launch in the colourful event.
Uasin Gishu Woman Representative, Gladys Shollei, invited the former entertainer to stage and he made the most of it.
The formal MP took a step back and his alter-ego took over, going on to perform one his biggest hit songs, kigeugeu.
Jaguar evoked nostalgic feelings from the moment he took the stage, with all the leaders gathered behind him rising up on their feet and grooving to the beat.
The flamboyant legislator serenaded the crowd before going on to air out a few words to mark the occasion.
He was among numerous other MPs who joined Dr Swarup Mishra alias Kiprop in launching the grand plan for the county.
It was rather ironical that kigeugeu was the song of choice at the event, as its main theme revolves around an individual being betrayed by his closest confidants.
Recently, the Starehe MP found himself on the wrong side of the law, after he was arrested right outside Parliament building, over alleged xenophobic remarks.
Security officers claimed that Jaguar's remarks regarding Chinese and Tanzanian traders in the popular Gikomba market, were inflammatory and amounted to hate speech.
This was after a video went viral on social media, in which Jaguar is heard telling foreigners trading in his constituency to shut down and vacate the country, failure to which they will be forcefully evicted.
All in all, the embattled legislator gave a stirring performance, watch it below:
