Uhuru's Moving Tribute to MP Ken Okoth

President Uhuru Kenyatta, on Friday, sent his condolences to the deceased Kibra Member of Parliament (MP), Kenneth Okoth.

In his message, Uhuru regretted how death had robbed the nation of an astute and progressive legislator who stood out for his servant leadership credentials.

He described the late Okoth as a courageous and illustrious servant of the people who sacrificed personal comfort to serve the country with commitment and dedication, especially the residents of Kibra Constituency.

"It is with a heavy heart that I have this afternoon received the sad news of the passing away of Okoth," he admitted.

"May God the Almighty comfort his family, friends, relatives, constituents and indeed all Kenyans during this difficult period of mourning," added the head of state.

Uhuru further declared that Okoth, who succumbed to colon cancer at the age of 41, will be remembered as an outstanding and gifted leader whose legacy will live on for generations to come.

The President further prayed that God gives the family of the youthful legislator, residents of Kibra and all Kenyans the fortitude to bear with the painful loss.

Other leaders and politicians also took to social media to share their condolences with the family of the Kibra MP.

AU Envoy Raila Odinga posted, "I'm deeply saddened by the passing of our MP Okoth. Ken battled Cancer, with unique bravery while serving his voters to the last minutes of his life. May God grant peace and strength to his family and may he Rest In Peace."

Deputy President William Ruto noted, "Deeply saddened by the passing on of Kibra MP.
