Angry Kenyans took to Twitter to bash Nyali MP, Mohammed Ali alias Jicho Pevu, after the former journalist launched a fierce attack on Mombasa Governor, Ali Hassan Joho, on Sunday.
“What has he done for Mombasa for over 10 years. As far as Mandera, governors are working. I can tell you what Governors, Kivutha Kibwana (Makueni), Alfred Mutua (Machakos) and Mike Sonko (Nairobi) are doing.
“Oh, God! He has brought Ali Kiba to Mombasa. He is a good dancer and a show biz governor. Dancing and fashion only,” Moha attacked Joho.
Speaking in Nyali constituency, he further urged the residents he was addressing to reject poor leadership like Joho’s.
“We reject the politics of conmanship and mediocrity in all its forms. there is no concrete development to be seen. We must ask the hard questions. In 2022, if God gives us life, we will never vote a small-minded person to lead big-minded people," Moha declared.
"Everyone fears Joho in Mombasa because he threatens and frustrates everyone. I do not fear him. I am the only voice of reason," he added while speaking to Kenyans.co.ke on phone.
However, his lethal criticism of Joho backfired as angry netizens bashed him.
“You should go back to translating Allan Namu’s (former Moha’s workmate at KTN) work to Swahili...Nyali people should just have the deputy commissioner take your role. You support Ruto and decry conmanship. Irony at its best,” Grace Nasiwo tweeted.
Parassis Otieno revealed that he was bored with Moha’s rants. Having voted for him in Nyali, he stated that Moha had obviously turned a strange corner and suggested that he should meet his constituents to chat on a way forward.
“Of all the ‘young’ MPs we elected, this guy has disappointed me the most. He’s an incorrigible hypocrite. He’s talking about accountability yet he is a friend of Kenya’s biggest thief,” a one Dollar Bill Stern responded.
"The people of Mombasa must call out Jicho Pesa 2022. What Joho has done, this guy will live to dream on the rest of his life. We have your receipts, kazi yako nikubeba pesa kwa bahasha uki-TangaTanga (all you do is carry cash in envelopes and then loiter around),” another netizen fired back.
