Tanzanian MP Moves Kenyans With Fiery Speech

A video of a Tanzania MP schooling his fellow legislators has gone viral in Kenya.

In the video, in which the MP tackles unemployment, the legislator questions the notion that the unemployed youth were responsible for their own fate.

"Wewe mwenyewe umeshindwa kujiajiri unaomba ubunge hapa, unataka kijana mtaani ajiajiri, loosely translating to, look at you, you failed to employ yourself and had to seek employment from your electorate and you are here telling the young men and women out there to look into self-employment," he remarked.

This sparked a conversation on various social media platforms, with most Kenyans relating to the issue of unemployment.

"Ouch!!! That hurt... He should come and address our useless Mpigs, who know nothing but salary increments for a job they begged from us," Hillary Adala posted.

Netizens lauded the MP for his statement, with the majority pointing out how Kenya's MPs could borrow a leaf or two from their Tanzanian counterpart.

"Its true Kenyan MPs & elite civil servants are the loudest in shouting how the youth should stop being lazy & should employ themselves yet they loot taxpayers money through illegal pay & allowances," one user posted.

Recent poll results released by infotrak disclosed that a majority of Kenyans viewed unemployment as the biggest issue facing the country as of June 2019.

This was a major shift from the results gathered back in December 2018, in which the high cost of living was the biggest issue for Kenyans at the time.
