Woman Claiming to Be Ken Okoth's Wife Emerges With Son

A woman claiming to be a wife of the late Kibra MP, Ken Okoth, has emerged with a five year-old-son, demanding that he be recognised before the MP's final rites.

Reports by The Star indicated that the woman claimed the five-year-old boy is well known among the MP's close friends and family members.

The publication further highlighted that Monica Okoth, the MP's wife, opposed the idea of the boy being recognised publicly.

Monica noted that she did not want the boy mentioned in Okoth's funeral announcement that was meant to be published on the Wednesday newspaper.

A close family member stated that the late Okoth had made it known that the boy was his own.

"Both the paternal and maternal grandparents have met the child and have lived with him for days. Ken loved the son very much and there is nothing in question," the source stated.

On Tuesday, Okoth's mother had urged members of the public not to believe in reports, that indicated that her son had sired a child with another woman.

“Ken did not sire any child. I know many women will come out to claim they have at least a child with Ken,” she stated.

Okoth died on July 26, 2019, at The Nairobi Hospital after a long battle with colorectal cancer.

He had suffered multiple organ failure.
