Ngilu Advises Laboso’s Husband on Remarrying

Kitui Governor, Charity Ngilu, on Thursday, shared a piece of advice with Edwin Abonyo, the husband of the late Bomet Governor Joyce Laboso.

Speaking during the memorial service at the All Saints Cathedral, Ngilu reminded Abonyo that there could never be any other Laboso.

"Edwin, you have been left by your friend and wife of many years. Listening to you when you were talking, I've seen the many years, the jokes, the laughter.

"This is a gap, therefore, you cannot fill. My prayer is that God will give you wisdom knowledge and understanding to help you continue to bring up and nurture your sons that you have been left with, and your family, the way Joyce and you had planned to do.

"You talked about a young and handsome man, and you still remain a young handsome man. Everywhere you go they (women) will be there looking for you. Please keep Joyce's name and take care of her children and her home, " the Kitui governor remarked.

"Let the lovely moments you shared with Joyce crystalize in your heart and build lasting memories of her as you go through this difficult period and beyond," she added.

Deputy President William Ruto, speakers of the National Assembly and Senate, Justin Muturi and Kenneth Lusaka, cabinet secretaries, governors and their deputies, members of parliament were among hundreds of mourners who also eulogized the late Bomet Governor at the church.

Laboso (59) succumbed to cancer on July 29 at The Nairobi Hospital.

On Friday evening, her body will be flown from Bomet to Koru in Kisumu County for an overnight stay.

The funeral service will be held at Kandege Secondary School grounds before burial at the family home on Saturday, August 3.
