DCI Pounces on KDF Officer Fleeing With Stolen Car

The Directorate of Criminal Investigations (DCI) detectives, on Friday evening, pounced on a Kenya Defence Forces (KDF) officer who was fleeing in a stolen car.

According to a statement from the agency, the officer, identified as Corporal Nicholas Kemboi, was arrested in possession of the car in Kabete area, Nairobi County.

At the time of the arrest, the sleuths discovered that the colour of the vehicle and its registration number had already been changed.

"Corporal Nicholas Kemboi, a KDF officer based at the Department of Defense(D.o.D), was yesterday arrested in connection with stealing of a motor vehicle.

"The suspect was nabbed in Kabete while in possession of the stolen car whose colour and registration number had been changed," read the statement in part.

Another suspect had earlier been taken into police custody in connection with that car's theft.

The suspect, Eric Oduor, was arraigned in court and released on bond.

"Another suspect, Eric Oduor, had already been arrested by DCI detectives and arraigned. He is currently out on bond," stated DCI

Kemboi is set to be arraigned in court over the matter

"The second accused, Kemboi, will be arraigned on Monday to face charges of stealing of a motor vehicle contrary to Section 278A of the Penal Code," concluded the statement.
