Woman Delivers in Uber Outside NTV Offices [PHOTOS]

Just as there is no warning for childbirth, there is no preparation for the sight of a first child - These are the words of American novelist Anita Diamant.

"There should be a song for women to sing at this moment or a prayer to recite. But perhaps there is none because there are no words strong enough to name the moment," she elucidates.

Such a scene was witnessed in Nairobi's Central Business District when a woman delivered a baby boy inside an Uber outside Nation Centre where NTV offices are based.

The lady was on her way to the Nairobi West hospital when the life-defining moment occurred in the most unlikely of places.

According to the Nation, the taxi driver Nelson Munene stopped the vehicle after the woman's condition, who was experiencing cramps, got worse.

He called for help and Nairobi residents who got to learn what was happening, sprung into action to assist the woman to deliver safely.

Medics from Meridian Hospital also assisted the mother and child.

Ladies who made it to the scene held lesos (shawls) over the car's windows shielding the mother from prying eyes.

Once the news was shared online, Kenyans took to express their joy over the safe delivery and the coming together by residents who paused their evening activities to assist the lady.

"This is such amazing news!" one user stated.
