Angry Kenyans tore into Babu Owino, after the Embakasi East MP, outlined a new tough demand for ODM leader, Raila Odinga.
Babu, a staunch supporter of Raila, demanded that Raila be made President after a referendum, in case it happened.
“We must change the constitution and Raila must be the President in 2022.
“Kenyans must prepare for a Referendum to avoid loss of lives and destruction of properties after elections,” Babu declared.
Kenyans could not bear with Babu’s sentiments as some termed it a hate speech while others claimed that Babu had revealed the real reason why President Uhuru Kenyatta and Raila Odinga, were swiftly pushing for the Building Bridges Initiative (BBI), after the handshake.
“When Satan wants to destroy you he begins by confusing you. I like how BBI supporters have begun it by telling us it is about Raila getting a seat.
“Now we know voting against BBI is voting against Raila. We shall turn out to the last man to give it/him a sounding defeat,” one Ngugi Isaac responded.
Other netizens picked a personal vendetta with Babu.
“A very unfortunate state of mind and affairs. This goon was never meant to be an MP from the word go,” Kishoyian Edward angrily lashed back.
“Sometimes you are so careless with your words. With this kind of arrogance who will vote for him if not you and your family,” Ogolla Peter warned.
In 2017, Babu caused drama in Parliament during swearing-in of MPs when he swore in the name of former Prime Minister, Raila Odinga.
