Deputy President William Ruto interrupted his speech during a wedding on Saturday, in Baringo County, to chase away journalists who had set up equipment at a certain section of the venue.
As he was speaking at the wedding ceremony of human rights activist, Amos Olempaka, he paused to repulse the scribes, whom he accused of blocking the crowd that had gathered.
"You members of the press have become too many. Some of you should move so that people at the back can follow the proceedings.
"Push back so that these people can see. Do you think I came here to talk to you?" he asked.
"These people should organise themselves and stop disturbing us," Ruto added, to the amusement of the crowd.
Members of the press could then be heard speaking in low tones with security officials, who ordered them to move.
On Friday, the DP had accompanied his brother, David Ruto Samoei for dowry negotiations called Koito.
The 'Koito' is a ceremony in which the bridegroom's family goes to the bride's home to meet them officially.
The groom's family, which include uncles, aunts, grandparents, parents and the clan, are invited into the room for dowry negotiations and to familiarise themselves with each other.
Afterwards, a formal introduction is done so as to prevent one from getting married to one of their own family members.
Other leaders present during the ceremony were; Uasin Gishu Governor, Jackson Mandago, Kapsaret MP Oscar Sudi and Uasin Gishu Woman Representative, Gladys Shollei.
