Remarks About Raila Make Waiguru Fall Out of Favour With Kenyans

Kenyans are not sparing Kirinyaga Governor, Anne Waiguru, while tearing into the county boss for her remarks about supporting former Prime Minister Raila Odinga.

Speaking on KTN's Pointblank show, on Wednesday, Waiguru welcomed the thought of an alliance with Odinga in the 2022 General Election.

She also disclosed that the Mt Kenya region would throw its weight behind Uhuru’s choice of a presidential candidate even if it were the ODM leader.

“If it is Raila, he should know that the region will want a piece of his government,” Waiguru disclosed during the interview with Tony Gachoka.

The remarks did not sit well with many Kenyans who accused her of being misguided.

Netizens bashed Waiguru, citing that she wasn't the region's spokesperson to make such utterances.

"Waiguru has no powers to speak on behalf of Mt Kenya. On supporting Raila in 2022, that's her own opinion," refuted Peter Njuguna.

"Someone tell Anne Mumbi Kamotho not to decide for Mt Kenya political bedrock whom to vote for," advised Samuel Mwangi.

"Waiguru Ann, how many Mt Kenya regions do we have because the one we are in, we are not and we will not support Raila whatsoever," wondered John Gitau.

A section of Kenyans warned that her remarks could signal her downfall, especially noting her ambition to rise higher in the political circles.
