Anerlisa Muigai Inks Touching Letter to Uhuru

Keroche Breweries CEO, Tabitha Karanja's daughter, Anerlisa Muigai, inked a letter to President Uhuru Kenyatta on Thursday after her parents were arrested over claims of evading Ksh14 billion tax.

On her social media platforms, Anerlisa pleaded with the president to intervene and help protect businesses in the country.

"I am writing in regards to our local entrepreneurs. I am humbly requesting you to intervene and help/protect us all in businesses. We chose you as our President.

Every day our local entrepreneurs are being fought. We trust and believe that you will do something about it. Thank You. #BuyKenya #BuildKenya," read the letter.

Anerlisa's letter came moments after Ms Karanja and her husband, Joseph Karanja, were arrested on Thursday afternoon.

Earlier in the day, she has penned a touching message to her mother after a warrant of arrest was issued against her, for claims of evading Ksh14 billion tax.

On her social media platforms, Anerlisa promised that she would stand with her mother, noting that she was praying for her.

"It doesn't matter what position you are in, nobody should ever watch their mother go through harassment. #iStandWithKeroche #iStandWithTabitha," she wrote.

DCI officers nabbed the couple, together with the company's board members, at the gate of their factory in Naivasha.

It is alleged that they failed to pay tax amounting to Ksh14.4 billion on various products manufactured and sold by Keroche Breweries Limited, during the period of January 2015 to June 2019.
