PHOTOS: How Politicians Treated Census Officials in Their Homes

The census exercise kicked off on August 24.

There have been incessant calls from all sectors asking that we show up and get counted during this Housing and Population Census 2019.

Since then, many have been enumerated, and many more are set to be enumerated as time goes by. Here are some of the leaders and politicians that led by example and got enumerated.

President Uhuru Kenyatta together with former First Lady Mama Ngina Kenyatta and several of his family members were enumerated at his Nairobi home.

"

In a brief address after the enumeration exercise, the President reiterated his earlier call to Kenyans to participate in the national exercise so as to provide the government with appropriate data for purposes of planning national development programs.

"Mine is to say that I have formally gone through the process. We've completed that exercise with my family," the President stated.

"Once again I reiterate that this is an exercise that's is geared towards helping us plan for your future. It is an exercise that is geared towards better utilization of your taxes to ensure that they get to the people. You cannot plan if you do not have the right statistics," he added.

Former Prime Minister Raila Odinga was counted in his Karen residence in the company of his family.

Former President Daniel Toroitich Arap Moi was enumerated at his Kabarak home in an exercise led by Nakuru County Commissioner Erastus Mbui. Baringo Senator Gideon Moi was also enumerated during the exercise.

Former Vice President Kalonzo Musyoka was also enumerated at his home in Ukambani.

Senate Majority leader and Elgeyo Marakwet senator Kipchumba Murkomen and his family were counted at his home in an exercise that was overseen by the sub-county Security Team led by the Assistant County Commissioner.
