Kenya Police officers handpicked to flying the Kenyan flag beat their regional counterparts in the contest in an AK47 shooting contest.
This was during the third edition of the Eastern Africa Police Chiefs Cooperation Organisation (EAPCCO) Games, held at the Kasarani Stadium in Nairobi, Kenya.
According to information provided by the Directorate of Criminal Investigations, the Kenyan officers proved too tough to crack as they went on to display their laser-sharp marksmanship.
They were eventually crowned as the overall champions, ahead of their Tanzanian, Ugandan, Rwandese and Burundian counterparts.
"Congratulations to Team Kenya for Emerging the Overall winners in the AK47 Shooting Competitions- Team Tanzania came second," the DCI tweet read.
The regional games pitting police officers from the various east African nations, kicked off on August 25, 2019, with the final day slated for September 1.
Officially founded in 1998, the tournament also serves as a practical representation of the need for cross-border cooperation against transnational and organized crime.
The games also serve as tools for fostering cooperation among security services in the 14 member states and promoting cultural diplomacy.
Netizens were quick to congratulate the Kenyan team for producing such a flawless performance.
"Congratulations team Kenya. Neighbours must-see dust because we are the top dogs," Felix Samoei stated.
