The burial of former Nyaribari Masaba Member of Parliament (MP), Hezron Manduku, over the weekend, was brought to a halt after a con artist was caught red-handed.
The unidentified man had cornered the current Nyaribari Masaba MP, Ezekiel Machogu, in a bid to solicit money from him, the Standard reported.
Eyewitness reports further stated that the suspect was so determined to have his way, that he pushed the MPs, personal assistant, away, as he tried to get the legislator alone.
However, security officers caught up with him and pounced just as he was about to have his way.
Reports by the Standard disclosed that the con artist was renown for soliciting money from dignitaries and politicians during public functions.
Despite being apprehended, the suspect still tried to wiggle his way out of custody by rolling on the ground and pleading for forgiveness, with little success.
He was promptly ushered out of the burial venue in Nyanturago area, under heavy security.
Notably, Kenyans have been falling for con artists left, right and centre, from real estate to religion, these crafty individuals have been having a field day in recent years.
