Kenya Airways Addresses Major Disruption of Flights

Kenya Airways has been forced to divert their flights after bad weather disrupted normal operations at the Jomo Kenyatta International Airport in Nairobi, on Monday.

According to reports by the Daily Nation, the planes had been rerouted to Moi International Airport in Mombasa, with the national courier maintaining that the decision was taken as a safety measure.

"We would like to inform our valued customers of disruptions to our flight operations this morning from 7am - 9:30am. This was due to the foggy conditions that surrounded JKIA," KQ revealed.

The disruption resulted in delays on some of the flights scheduled for Monday.

The national courier went on to advise all its passengers to check in with the customer care officers using the following telephone number,+254 (0)20 3274747, for any updates regarding departing flights before heading to the airport.

Several clients used the platform to complain over the extremely long delays.

"My flight KQ740 was cancelled without a word. So sad. What happened to alerting your clients on time," Marc Abrams tweeted.

On the other hand, several frustrated passengers accused the meteorological department of failing to issue timely alerts.

"Any chance meteorological department can be updating us on forecast reduced visibility. No word from them so far," one client posted.
