If 'Inspekta Mwala' actor-cum- sports presenter, Allan Muliro, could turn back the hands of time, he probably would have made better choices.
Speaking to The Star, on Monday, September 2, Muliro disclosed that alcohol addiction ruined his career and almost cost him his marriage.
The talented comedian narrated that the genesis of his struggle began in 2013, after the death of his mother.
"I was so close to my mother and her death, it really affected me. I would find myself drinking so much," he stated.
Muliro admitted that he regrets squandering the golden opportunity at Radio Citizen, where he worked as a sports presenter on Viwanjani Michezo and Burudani Show before he was sacked, for overindulging in alcohol.
The father of one revealed that he was taken to rehab in Thika and has since been trying to mend his relationship with the love of his life.
"My wife and I are trying to work things out and I'm happy the relationship has improved after rehab. But I regret my past and keep asking myself why am I alone? Why did I do this?" the actor pointed out.
Muliro divulged that he nowadays engages in physical exercises, like running every morning, to keep himself busy. He also participates in mentorship programmes to support recovering alcoholics.
Just recently, his colleague, Davis Mwabili, popularly known as Inspekta Mwala, caught himself in the wrong side of the law after he reportedly knocked down a pedestrian in Kilifi County, killing him on the spot.
The renown actor was said to have been driving under the influence of alcohol when he hit a 35-year-old man, Samuel Mwaki, while trying to avoid an oncoming vehicle.
