Political activist and Ukweli Party leader, Boniface Mwangi, left Kenya's online community in stitches, following his brutal attack on Raila Odinga's son.
The vocal crusader came out guns blazing after Raila Jr took to Twitter, to mock Ukweli Party's candidate for the upcoming Kibra by-election, Editar Ochieng.
"I honestly feel there will be more spoilt votes than votes for her. Boniface Mwangi if SportPesa were still on I’d make that bet. Why would someone waste their time and money like this?" Raila Jr posted.
Mwangi's response was quick and surgical, leaving hundreds of netizens in fits of laughter, while others were empathetic with the former Prime Minister's son, claiming that the activist was hitting below the belt.
"Your father has been running for President since 1997. 22 year later he is still running but has never been sworn as president. Raila Jr let Editar run for MP Kibra in peace. Bet on your dad becoming president in 2022 and let Editar Ochieng be," the Ukweli Party leader tweeted.
Raila Jr would then go on to respond to the seemingly harsh remarks by stating that the Mwangi backed candidate was a nonstarter.
The verbal exchange between the two continued with Mwangi urging the ODM party leader's son to step out of his father's shadow.
"Bullying a young woman because she dared vie in a party not owned by your father Raila Odinga is purely wrong. Editar of Ukweli Party is my choice, you don't have a choice yet because daddy hasn't picked someone for you. Become your own man," he tweeted.
