Fake Raila Security Clash With Police in Dramatic Highspeed Chase

The Nairobi-Nakuru highway was on Thursday, September 5, the scene of a dramatic car chase between traffic officers and unidentified individuals who claimed to be part of Raila Odinga's security personnel.

However, speaking to Kenyans.co.ke ODM party Communications Director, Philip Etale maintained that none of Raila's security team was outside Nairobi.

"I am not aware of any incident involving Raila's security detail. He is and has been in Nairobi since the week began and all his security personnel are around," he divulged.

Police manning the busy highway had set up a roadblock after they were alerted about a suspicious vehicle, K24 reported.

Reports further revealed that the traffic officers received an intelligence briefing which described the car as a heavily tinted SUV, whose occupants were described as armed and dangerous.

Drama ensued the moment the sleek SUV declined to stop as instructed, leading to an all-out highspeed pursuit.

The unknown driver then tried to lose the police who were in hot pursuit by tracking back into Nakuru town.

However, the police had mobilized several boda boda riders who intercepted the vehicle at the KFA roundabout in Nakuru.

The traffic officers arrived moments later and deflated the tyres of the suspects' vehicle, before ordering the occupants to step out of the car.

It was at this moment that the unidentified occupants flashed badges which allegedly stated that they were part of Raila's security team on the way to Nairobi for an important event.

The bodaboda operators hurriedly apologised, going on to find a portable tyre inflator, to send the mean-looking security team on their way.
