Babu Owino Request to Constituents Backfires on Him

Embakasi member of parliament Babu Owino, on Thursday, September 5, pulled a daring move on his social media accounts that attracted backlash.

In the post seen by Kenyans.co.ke, the MP sought to find out from his fans whether he had served them as he should, since his election in 2017.

"My people tell me the areas that I have failed in as a leader. Jokes allowed but only serious comments will be taken into consideration." he posed.

The post attracted responses both from friends and foes with both giving him a piece of their mind.

Most of the Netizens asked the legislator to repair the Kwa Ndege road and other development projects that were yet to be completed.

Other social media users bashed the MP for his foul utterances, especially in public platforms.

Schebon Simon Chebon a Twitter user posted, "Mature and sober up. You have great ideas and courage but you need to talk like a leader. No need to be hysterical."

Luiz Kipkoech Patrick also advised, "Take your mouth for trimming. It is the only thing that fails you. Consider also getting a cut, it helps the brain to grow."

An enraged user also disclosed that the MP did not support local talent in his constituency. He went as far as revealing that he was never recognised for a project he did for Owino.

"You haven't promoted any youth talents in Embakasi as you promised their are many musician footballers but nowhere to showcase their talent, I wrote a campaign song for you but you ignored it though it helped you during the campaign, help youths in Embakasi," KikiBrownMusiq complained.

Other users made fun of the moment asking the MP to instead use his position to pass bills in parliament that favour the 'boy child'.

"Take this to parliament, that there is no need for dowry during marriage, we fear getting married and the cost of living is high especially without jobs in Kenya. Take this seriously Babu," joked Nicky KE

The vocal lawmaker has not made any official communication since the post.
