Gideon Moi Blasts Ruto's Allies for Undermining Uhuru

Baringo Senator Gideon Moi, on Saturday, September 7, blasted Deputy President William Ruto's allies accusing them of undermining President Uhuru Kenyatta.

Speaking during his installation as a Sabaot elder at Kapsokwony in Mount Elgon, Moi claimed that corruption was a major cause of poverty in the country and that the DP's allies remained an obstacle in its fight.

He also urged the leaders to abandon their 2022 campaigns and let the president fight the vice.

“We are currently in a very delicate journey and we must support the president… in 2022 let God’s will be done. For now, let us work for the citizens.

“Sell your policies in a proper manner and if Kenyans agree then they will vote for you. There’s no need of this back and forth and threats; there are some people who cannot be threatened," stated Gideon.

“Certain people have been threatening others about 2022, they must realise that some people cannot be threatened,” he added.

The senator was accompanied by Chama Cha Mashinani party leader, Isaac Ruto, where he was anointed with a special ointment.

He was also dressed in traditional Sabaot regalia and given a traditional three-legged stool and a spear aimed at symbolising their power and blessings.

“This is the cradle land of the Kalenjin community, his crowning makes him a leader, he is free to go out there and fight for whatever seat he desires.

“It is here former President Moi was anointed in 2002, President Uhuru Kenyatta was also crowned as an elder here and now it is Gideon’s turn to get the elders’ blessings,” The Standard quoted a leader, Richard Chebuyo, 74, who attended the ritual.

Other leaders who accompanied Gideon were Tiaty MP William Kamket, his Moiben counterpart Silas Tiren, nominated Senator Zipporah Kittony and former Mount Elgon MPs John Serut and Joe Kimkung’.
