Moses Kuria's Advice to Colleagues Backfires

Gatundu South Member of Parliament Moses Kuria, on Monday, September 9, received backlash for a controversial post he made.

In the post seen by Kenyans.co.ke, the MP cautioned his fellow politicians to keep allegations of death threats against themselves secret.

"To fellow politicians. Every time we tell the public that so and so is planning to eliminate us, the public silently cheers. They hate us. It's better we deal with these matters quietly," urged Kuria.

The public, however, did not take Kuria's advice lightly as they heavily criticised his utterances.

The netizens roasted the legislator stating that he should have served by example when he made headlines after publically declaring that his life was in danger.

Benard Mogaka Nyaribo mocked Kuria saying, "and when you were threatened you made the loudest voice."

"Last Time I Checked you told us your life was in danger now you want  other's to deal with the matter quietly?," Kimathi Njuguna questioned.

Others criticised the lawmaker saying that his life was not any special from that of other politicians so that they keep mum when their lives are threatened.

Kennedy Ndegwa Kuria, also questioned "You are losing it, I hope you have honest friends who can candidly tell you. Don't forget we remember the other day you were shouting at the top of your voice that your life is in danger. Do you think yours was a special case?"

Derrick Omondi a netizen ridiculed, "Nowadays those who live in posh estates their lives are in danger and they are seeking advice from those who live in slums on how they have been surviving all those years without bodyguards and everything is ok. Interesting times."

Another netizen trolled the Gatundu South MP's by hilariously urging other politicians who ever needed to flee from the police to hide in Royal Media Services stations as Kiharu MP Ndindi Nyoro did on Sunday, September 8.

Sylvester Kym urged, "Dear voters, we now know where to hide when the police are planning to arrest us, hide in Royal Media Services office that will automatically make them postpone your arrest."

Kuria had in January claimed that he had been receiving death threats following his criticism of President Uhuru Kenyatta.

This was after a statement he made on December 31, 2018, when he claimed that Uhuru had abandoned the Mt. Kenya region in matters development.

According to the MP, he had been receiving personal attacks since then.
