Kalonzo Fronts CMB Prezzo To Vie for Kibra Seat in 2022

Kenyan artist Jackson Makini popularly known as CMB Prezzo has officially thrown his hat into the political ring declaring his interest in the Kibra parliamentary seat

His bid to run for the seat during the November 7 mini poll was however not successful as Wiper leader Kalonzo Musyoka advised him to wait until 2022.

Speaking to Kenyans.co.ke on Tuesday, September 10, the party's spokesperson Dennis Kavisu stated that earlier reports indicating that the celebrity would run in the upcoming by-election were false.

"The Wiper leader (Kalonzo) only held a presser to receive him as a member and advised him to vie for the Kibra seat in 2022 as the party would not field a candidate in the mini-poll," he told this writer over the phone.

"

Presenting his credentials, Prezzo went to the party offices with his hired supporters to officially join the party.

Speaking at the press conference, Kalonzo declared, "We saw that ODM already picked a candidate, so we decided that as Wiper for now because we recently beat them in Embakasi South. We will not have a candidate (in Kibra).

“ANC (Amani National Congress) has a candidate. Wetangula (Ford Kenya party leader) has a candidate, even Jubilee has a candidate. So may the best candidate win.”

If his application to vie in the Kibra by-election had been successful, Prezzo would have faced off against Jubilee's McDonald Mariga, ODM's Bernard 'Imran' Okoth, former ODM strategist Eliud Owalo fielded by Musalia Mudavadi's ANC, Khamisi Butichi (Ford Kenya) and Ukweli Party's Editar Ochieng'.
